At first glance you cannot tell what these airy sculpture are made from, but as you gaze closer you realize they are made completely from recycled materials. Artist El Anatsui collected all the materials near his home in Nigeria. There is a beautiful abstract quality to his work that we cannot get enough of. El Anatsui’s spectacular and thought provoking works are currently on show at Jack Shainman Gallery in Chelsea, as well as a large commissioned piece on the High Line.
