We just love coming across a creative and talented artist like Jennifer Sanchez! Her fun use of pastels and bright colors is oh so inspiring. Jennifer’s original paintings are so fun and happy we kind of want to dive right inside!

Nothing like some abstract art to spice up your Tuesday afternoon! We’re loving these pieces by London-based artist, Mark McEvoy, who’s been creating cool things since he was old enough to hold a pencil. Swing by his site to check out the rest of his work!

AO HAPPENINGS

Our very own Mallane Stanbury, talented artist and executive assistant to Stacey, has her incredible work on display at our SoHo store for the next two weeks.

Mallane’s exhibit, “A Dose of Mallane”, combines photography and art installation, and is nothing short of mind-blowing. Stop by 72 Greene Street and see for yourself!

OK, hold the phone…how amazing is this inflated/deflated project by Chicago-based creatives Jillian, Lauren and Kady?!
The girls take humorous quotes and heartfelt feelings, write them on the surface of inflated balloons, then let the air out — leaving what you see here. We love it!

We find artist Agathe de Bailliencourt’s work to be so perfectly imperfect! Love her use of bold, bright and beautiful colors and the way that they just seem to come together and dance all over the canvas. Yes, we are suckers for pink, but the style in which she combines it with blues, greens, yellows and even white is oh so inspiring!

Um, how cool is this?! Urban land artist, Jorge Rodrigues-Gerada, has officially created the largest portrait ever. Bigger than a football field! Oh and it gets better - the piece was created to promote women’s rights for Amsterdam’s “Open Your Eyes” campaign. Girl power!

We are loving these vintage paper collages by artist Ben Giles.  He describes as almost screen shots for films that the viewer has to imagine or are sets to an existing film that never aired.  The collages are fanciful, thoughtful, and inspiring.  This up and coming artist is only 19 years old with a bright future ahead.  You can purchase prints of his collages here.

How incredible are these photographs from Laurent Chehere? In his series Flying Houses, Chehere takes his existing photographs of various housing structures and creates the illusion they are permanently suspended in the sky. So Magical! We just hope whoever lives inside each house isn’t scared of heights!

These fanciful sculptures were created by Nashville based artist Herb Williams.  The secret to his creations is that they are made entirely of thousands of colorful Crayola crayons.  We love the idea that something we all have used as drawing tools from childhood can be transformed into unexpected works of art.  To view more of Herb Williams art go to http://www.herbwilliamsart.com/.

When Marcel Christ combined the mediums of pastel chalks and photography, it resulted in true work of arts.  The artist describes playing with the chalk as an experiment that he responded to with still photographs.  These images are full of life and have an explosive like quality to them that have captured our eye and our love for all things colorful.  To view more of his works visit here.
